The YB Tracking iPhone/iPad app allows you to follow live race
tracking on your mobile - updated to feature everything we track
including yacht races, car rallies, adventure racing and more.
Information in the race viewer is also controlled by the race
organisers - not YB Tracking. For instance, if a race organiser has
not provided pictures for the teams, then pictures will not appear in
this app or on our web-based viewer.

The App has several weaknesses: 1. The wind symbol is so small, I cannot interprete it. Even with magnifying glasses it is very difficult 2. Klick on the yachts for further information doesnt work 3. No way to store your favourites. Each time you access the App you have to do your selection again. I am really a fan for following the ARC but on the ipad it is not really fun and I seriously regret having bought the race.
We use Yellowbrick to do the tracking for the Lake Ontario 300 race. I can fire up my laptop and check positions for free on their site. If I want to use this "free app" to do the exact same thing on a much smaller screen I have to "buy the race" for $2.99. I deleted the app and turned on my laptop instead.
The app clearly hasnt figured out how to work for Apple users- only shows a 4 hour delay on race tracking. Pretty hopeless.
Crashes every time I try to view a race. Should give it 0 stars.
Compared to using the Yellowbrick tracking provided online for free by major race organizations, this Yellowbrick app is barely usable. The difference between their online tracking system and this app is striking. Online you can zoom easily, see a map in the background, group racers into a "favorites" group so just the boats you are interested in can be tracked and several other features. All of this is missing from the iOS app. The zoom function does not zoom in close enough to select individual boats racing in close proximity. Even trying a stylus to select individual boats doesnt seem to help. Yes you do see boats racing along a course and yes you can engage a leaderboard. But the ability to do anything else (as in Yellowbricks online web system) is totally lacking. This app is free (big deal!). Individual race tracking must be purchased per race. I purchased the Newport-Bermuda Race because my son is aboard one of the boats. But I wont be purchasing any more races until this Yellowbrick app gets a thorough upgrade.
